I would like some clarity on the political restrictions!
I can only fly from my country towards Europe and the world! even if I build a terminal in Germany I can not from this but since 1994! In the U.S. by that year I can build a terminal and get you started my planes? you know the dates for the end of restrictions from other countries / continents.

Forgive my English by google traslate

There is no restriction about taiwan china flights. Also will this restriction be lifted around 2008? when they allowed cross strait flights?

DAL is restricted by Wright Amendment.........you have to use a plane that seats 56 pax or less (has to be max seating size) to fly outside Texas and 3 other states. IIRC, they are Texas, Lousiana, New Mex and Okla.

So you could use the F27 at max/extended range, Gulfstreams, CRJ to do the job.

There are no F-27's, Gulfstreams or CRJ's in 1956.. If you're gonna have 'political restrictions', why not make them realistic.. ??

you might as well say why don't we get a realistic amount of days in a month -_- and if you're so insistent on realism, why don't you get some realistic utilisation out of your fleet and some realistic configs for your aircraft.

The Wright Ammendment was implemented into the game at a time when 1980 was the earliest start date.
As people wanted earlier games, despite warnings that the markets and models employed in AE wouldn't fit, we have the situation where there is a "modern market" in a 1950s environment.
We can look into it, but we'll have the problem of how to deal with airlines with routes not meeting the requirements when they come into force. For now, its here to stay.

thanks for clearing that up.. I understand that it would take much programming to make every aspect realistic.. This is an excellent game and I enjoy playing immensely.. Keep up the good work- you guys have done a great job with it.. I can't believe it's FREE !!

USB, I answered your question previously here:

I understand that the reason we use max capacity instead of cabin layout is because there was a bug that people abused. They would open the route with a larger aircraft, but with a 50 seat cabin configuration. Then they would change the configuration to a larger number of seats and get around the ban. As this is essentially cheating, the loop hole was closed.

hello, I know it was asked earlier as well but I don't think an answer came about Taiwan and China political restrictions being lifted in 2008? Do we know if the game has that or do they stay throughout the game? Thanks!

For now, restrictions that are in place at any time during the game are generally there for the whole game. The one exception that I know of is the EU, where the open skies policy kicks in in 2000.

Hi. My airline is based in Australia. For some reason I can operate flights within New Zealand and vice versa. This is NOT a real life arrangement. For example Air New Zealand can't operate flights within Australia as QANTAS can't either (there is a part QANTAS owned subsidiary that operates in New Zealand but is not QANTAS itself). Can anyone explain this?

Here's an extract of the treaty....

"ANNEX

Section 1

ROUTE SCHEDULE

A. Routes for the airline or airlines designated by the Government of New Zealand

1. From points behind New Zealand via New Zealand, and any intermediate point(s), to any point(s) in Australia, and beyond.
2. For all-cargo services, between Australia and any point or points.

B. Routes for the airline or airlines designated by the Government of Australia

1. From points behind Australia via Australia, and any intermediate point(s), to any point(s) in New Zealand, and beyond.
2. For all-cargo services, between New Zealand and any point or points.

C. Routes for SAM Airlines

1. Between points in Australia and/or New Zealand."

Basically, there's an open skies agreement between Australia and New Zealand which basically allows a free or free-er market. In this case, any australian airlines can operate on domestic nz services vice versa. Also, last i checked, Jetstar was an Australian company, and i believe its domestic nz services are operated under the Australian brand and there is no separate new zealand entity. However the aircraft are registered in nz so yeah, things are starting to get nit picky, but i hope i've answered your question :)
