I was extremely happy when one day my dad said we would try to get on a flight up to Bodo for the Bodo airshow and when the day came even more surprises awaited.
ROUTE:
OSL-TRD-BOO-TRD-OSL
Flight #1
SK362
Plane: LN-BUG 737-500
Seat: 0A
Route: OSL-TRD
We showed up at the airport about an hour before the flight and went over to the check in machines, there we checked in and noticed rthat there we might not get on the flight, but we just continued and decided to check in our 2 bags. after standing in a line for 5 minutes however we decided that we could just take the bags as carry ons so we walked over to the security checkpoint where lines were smaller than expected. After standing in line there for just 3 minutes we were trough with 1 shampoo bottle less. We then proceeded to our gate where we waited for about 30 minutes before boarding started, at first I tought we werent going to get a seat as we were traveling on ID tickets but then when we went forward to the desk and asked if we had any seats left we got a short anwser: No. I was sad but then after about 5 seconds the nice lady behind the desk said: So you will have to take a F/A seat and Cockpit you decide who sits where. Obviously I was gonna do everything in my power to get the cockpit seat, so after asking once I got it I walked in to the cramped, warm and awesome room in the front of the aircraft where I was greeted by 2 happy pilots who had just finished the pre flight checks so we got the seat down after about a 1 minute strugle with the latches. After that I could just sit back, get the headset on and observe the flight. As we taxied out the Captain actually engaged in a small conversation with me that was quite funny, it ended with us observing a heavyli loaded 737-800 from Norwegian trying to take off and the 2 coments FO: Thats a full machine CAPT: Yep, machine filled with s***. I LOLed so hard because I wasnt allowed to ROFL as I was strapped to my seat. After about flying for 5 minutes I ended up with some funny talks with the pilots such as
FO: I have the smallest steering wheel in the world.
Me: Well that yoke is large so I would say that.
FO: *Engages heading sellect and turns heading knob*
Me: *LOLING*
Then I had a cocke in the middle of the flight before returning to chatting with the pilots.
Then on approach:
CAPT: Thats bumpy
FO: I think I bumped my head.
Me: Well there is someone ahead of us and those engines arent excactly turbulence removers.
FO: SOB Should have been on a 2 Degree Glideslope
CAPT: ANd the worst thing is that it isnt even Norwegian, its Company(SAS)
As we were landing we didnt know if the guy's ahead of us were going to make the exit, I was hoping it wouldnt so I could experience a Go arround from the cockpit But it made it and we taxied in.
Flight #2
SK362
Plane: LN-RPH 737-600
Seat: 15D
Route: TRD-BOO
After landing from Oslo we had a 20 minute transfer at TRD, would have gone fine if we hadnt walked in the wrong direction and ended up at the wrong gate so we had to run to the correct one only to find out that there was only one seat left, so my dad told me to go and I went. Found my seat and It was an aisle seat with the woman next to me sleeping and a stack of Newspapers in my seat I just moved them on to the floor and sat down, flight was straight forward, didnt have any food. Had to get my luggage sent as baggage as all of the overhead's were full and there wasnt enough room under the aisle seat to fit it. So I arrived at BOO and just followed the rest of the people to the baggage claim area. As I stood there I saw my uncle who was here to pick me up.
After about a 15 minute drive to my uncles house we just waited to get a call from my father, after about an hour it came and we went to the airport to pick him up. Now awaited the Bodo Air Show 2012.
Saturday with Airshow
The day was here and It was amazing, aftr standing in line for tickets for an hour we walked in to the area where the show was and saw huge machines such as the C-17, C130J and KC-135, an aviatons geek heaven. With performances by the Frecce Tricollore and Patroulle Swiss we were stunned and after just 7 hours it was over. Sigh.
Flight #3
SK4577
Plane: LN-BRX 737-500
Seat 10E
BOO-TRD
Well after meeting up at the airport to catch a direct flight to OSL which was full and the cockpit seat given to somebody else we had to wait 2 hours for the next available flight to TRD.
After boarding I walked back to seat 10E which is a center seat right in front of the emergency exit (damn) I was squiced between to gorgeous women
After about 30 minutes of flight I got a coke from the F/A, sent by my father who was sitting further to the front. Sadly not an interesting flight except for a period of medium turbulence on approach. We arivced and had to walk over to the other side of the airport to reach our flight to OSL which we were not checked in to...
Flight #4
SK369
Plane: LN-TUJ 737-700(W)
Seat: 10F
TRD-OSL
After walking for 10 minutes to the other side of the airport we were checked in by the gate attendant and boarded the gorgeous ex-Braathens machine with around 40% of the plane filled upe we started on our flight to OSL, but while taxiing I noticed a small Extra 230 being re-fueled, I remembered that as one of the many performers at the Bodo Airshow. The light was nice, Captain was making a few jokes, had a coke and a norwegian snack called a "Lefse" (Americans, you can now become confused ) Nice little flight. The plane had the 2008 cabin I belive, which was a nice change from the previous flight with a considerably older cabin. Me and my father had the entire row for ourself, so even if I was checked in at 10E I got 10F instead. Another cool thing is that the F/A's on this flight were the ones we had on the previous flight
