I wonder what are the gate numbers based on?


It should be the annual pax numbers logically, but it is a bit strange:

MXP has 19,29 mil pax / 90 gates; ARN 19,06 mil pax / 94 gates; DUS 20,34 mil pax / 80 gates or

DKR has 2,3 mil pax / 75 gates; KUF has 1,8 mil pax / 75 gates; LEJ 2,27 mil pax / 22 gates and

SXF has 7,3 mil pax / 23 gates and TXL 15 mil pax / 35 gates only.

Somehow, german airlines (other EU-airlines also) are being favored by low gate numbers.


Am I right? If so, why?

In the past the gate numbers were added in multiples of 25, or rounded to the nearest 10 as 100 is a little high. Now we actually count them when we add them, so some are realistic, some aren't.

Google maps helps i guess. though, didnt think we were getting this realistic, since now certain airports have only 7 gates available and in realistic worlds without the option to pay for a terminal, you cant fly the route, making it impossible to connect to airports...

Hopefully a better solution can be found in the next version...
