Anyone good at upgrading Dell Wintel Systems?

I'm trying to upgrade my Dell PC with an AMD Sapphire Radeon HD6670 card. Service Tag Number on request.

Yes, I have all the supposed requirements, however the AMD tech person told me to upgrade the BIOS and then disable the Intel Integrated Graphics. That failed miserably (lfmf: do not ever disable your primary graphics processor unless you clearly understand what you are doing).

Anyone here who can help?
