Austrian Airlines OS 821
Vienna 13.25
Istanbul 16.45
As I stepped into Vienna's Flughaffen I just couldn't help noticing the petiteness of the airport. Being so used to big airports such as LHR,FRA,AMS,CDG,HKG Vienna's international airport smallness kinda made me sad. Honestly i love travelling and the airport is one of the most important aspect of my travels. Well not that i jumped in the dark as i've been in VIE a few years back on a stop-over to PEK and i have to say that i was delighted to see a lot of people and a lot of shops. Something that i totally missed on my previous experience. That day i was once again in VIE this time no longer flying to Beijing but heading instead to Istanbul, Turkey.
The boarding was done smoothly Austrian Airlines'staff were quite good in priority boarding given to passengers with children and hand luggage rigorously checked as some turks tried to smuggle more than the given free baggage allowance. Truthfully speaking i'm also guilty of the same crime, not this time but basically every time i fly but some how i always go below the radar. Boarding was done with bus+stairs system as we reached the apron i couldn't just noticed a change in aircraft. No longer was it a B737 this time i will be flying with an A321-200 with Lauda Air Livery. I couldn't be more happy.
The seats were splendidly comfortable as i sat down waiting for the plane to fill up peeking thru the window two middle eastern planes caught my eye
Plane from Doha frankly speaking i never thought that QR will fly such a small plane to VIE but then i forgot its VIE.
Emirates from Dubai
I didn't need to wait long for the plane to leave as it was not even 40% full that cabin doors were closed.
take off was smooth and soon the airmap was being broadcasted on board. FA passed with hot towels before serving lunch.
Lunch consisted in Chicken it was one of the best on board meals i ate. In fact i can only give praises to this catering company. Although lunch was small but it's highly unusual to get proper meal these days on European carriers so i guess i was lucky enough. By the way Do&co catered the mean and is the same catering company for Turkish Airlines where i also ate very good food. I can still remember the baked salmon and the sour cherry juice served on my last TK flight. Back to Reality as my flight neared my final destination a noisy and perhaps drunk passenger started to make some ruckus. Not only was the airspace congested over istanbul and as we were being put on hold and instructed to fasten our seatbelt the drunk passenger got up during approach and went to the business class section of the plane. I couldn't see anything as the curtains dividing the two classes blocked my view but after we landed a big surprise awaited the drunkard. In fact as soon as we landed and doors were opened he was escorted by the police. Not caring much of the guy's fate i strolled out, passed through passport control, stopped by duty free, picked my luggage and started my Turkish Adventure.
And If we like to over do things, just imagine what is like to be our guest!

But honestly, that meal seems a bit small...
But good food comes in small quantities

why do you not like to airline and it is bad for the environment to fly for the seeks off it
One, I'm guessing what you meant since your English is terrible. Two, Mass Transit aboard an aircraft is often better than driving based on cost, environmental impact, etc. Three, what makes you think she is flying for fun? She could be visiting family, on a vacation, doing a business trip, etc. and driving is not economical for whatever purpose she is traveling for.
It's really me, now. #backtoAE

That is the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard. Just because your not on a commercial flight doesn't mean its not going to fly. Your not that special

first of all I'm a He and second thing i can only agree with QK. Flying is the cheapest , the fastest and only option i have. What i meant is that even though i dont like the carrier it is not a valid reason for me not to take their flight given the right price and flight time. Alitalia was the only airline that could satisfy all my wants and need. Price, flight time and closest airport. I have my own reasons to dislike an airline but given this choice combined with all the variables it was the best option.

Thanks for the report!

They serve more than a meal on VIE - IST?
But honestly, that meal seems a bit small...
But good food comes in small quantities
That's pretty decent food given into account that it's (i) economy and (ii) the relatively small duration of this flight.
Last time I flew Austrian (August 2011) on KBP-VIE-CPH-VIE-KBP in economy and I was only served with a sandwich/muffin and a drink.
