Does passanger demand between two given airports change during the course of a World (R5 in my case)?

I was changing aircraft and on one my routes i was flying more than double the passangers that the route demanded and i know that when i created the route this was not the case. i´ve seen this on 3 or 4 of my routes that i´ve gonne back to after a while. The passanger demand has gonne down. Does the opposite also happen and if so what influences this fluctuation in passanger demand?

I belive that there is a little difference between summer and winter season.
however, the effect you describes here can be that you have connecting passengers too
If a part of your loadfactor tab is blue then you have connecting pax. that could explain that you have 100% loadfactor on a route that would in real give you 80% load factor (Only an example)
