So last week I went for the Singapore Airshow (which was awesome), and since my journey involved 3 train trips, this is a perfect trip to share seeing how many train fans there are here.
Here's the journey:
KLIA Express (Airport express from downtown Kuala Lumpur to the Kuala Lumpur Intl Airport)
KLIA Aerotrain (the shuttle train which links two terminals of KLIA)
Malaysia Airlines MH607 KUL-SIN A 30 minute B737 hop from KUL to SIN
Singapore MRT train The Singapore subway ride to my relative's house from Singapore Airport

PART 1: The fastest way to KLIA
KLIA is a good 70km from Kuala Lumpur so driving takes about an hour, versus 28 mins by the KLIA express.
The main train station, KL Sentral which is the busiest interchange for buses and subways, and it's also the place where the KLIA express stops.
The journey there
(Jln = Road, Pusat Bandaraya = City Centre)
There's a nice feature where one can check-in for his/her flight right here. The checked baggage will be loaded onto the train, albeit in the cargo hold. Though only Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates and Royal Brunei decided to offer this service. All other airlines handle their check-in at the airport only.
The Emirates check-in (There's an EK flight leaving at the same time as my flight)
Malaysia Airlines check-in
The subway line which runs right through the building
Boarding pass in hand, it's time to head down to the platform, where the train was already waiting. If you miss this one, not to worry - there's one every 15 mins.

Down the escalator to the platform. It's deserted as everyone has boarded the train further down the platform.
Pleasant enough for a 28 minute journey, with plenty of space for baggage
Leaving Sentral station, speeding towards daylight (if you haven't noticed the platform is underground)
In no time we're out of the city already, speeding south at 160km/h
The super-spacious loo
Almost there. This is the airport perimeter.
Welcome to KLIA!

My flight is right on top. (Pintu Baru = New Gate)
Mostly domestic and regional destinations around this hour
The check-in concourse. A mess at this hour thanks to Emirates. There's got to be like, 300 religious pax on a religious tour queuing to check-in. Bear in mind, they're mostly first-time flyers, so they had no clue of where to check-in resulting in this mess.
How I wish I was there.....
......instead of here
Departure from C23 tonight, so it requires me to board the Aerotrain to get there.
Still had over an hour to spare, so it's off to.....
Unsurprisingly, mostly MH
A330-200 being towed, A330-300 sitting behind, and a GulfAir A340-300 off to Bahrain soon.
The Emirates B777-300ER (which was supposed to be an A380)

PART 2: Off to Singapore
Off to the departure area. Nowadays the guard doesn't visually check your boarding pass anymore. He just scans the barcode.
Down to Immigration
First and Business pax get to use those lanes with the carpet
Malaysian passport lane. We have a choice of the automated clearance lanes where your thumbprint is scanned, or the traditional counters. I chose the latter as I could get a stamp.
Goodbye, Malaysia. Back in 2 days!

Well, just another routine KUL-SIN flight. Nothing special at all.
