Our Main Fleet:
3x Class 08:
The Class 08 is our yard shunter. It can be seen in our yards shunting things around at a nice slow pace. Nicknamed "Gronk" by the odd AE Chat trainfans, we have a dedicated Class 08 with a proper nameplate bearing the name "Gronk".
It's very slow and doesn't need to go fast so it has a top speed of 15mph. All three are fitted with a multi-coupler, that allows compatability with all our fleet.
1x Class 57/7:
Our Class 57 is used to rescue trains as it it fitted with all the kinds of couplings we have here at Regional Railways AE. It's named "Tintin" and has always been named "Tintin". If its not on standby, then its out working a fill in train along with its Mk3 and DVT set.
Built orginaly by Brush Traction as a Class 47 and later rebuilt by Brush Traction as a Class 57 it has a top speed of 95mph. It's got plenty of power and is a very reliable, useful locomotive.
10x Class 37/4:
The Class 37 is our goods locomotive. It can be seen all day everyday pulling goods everywhere. Somtimes it can also be spotted top and tailing on railtours.
Built by English Electric these useful locomotives can reach speeds of 90mph. This varity is fitted with Electric Train Heat (ETH) too. It's fitted with a chain coupling and is fitted with Vacuum and Air brakes making its breaking compatable with our heritage fleet.
__________
4x Class 153:
Our 4 cute little bubble cars operate the rural branchs and one can somtimes be seen shuttling along the Viking Branch when the Class 373 is out of use. These are useful and reliable little DMU's that can trudle along anywhere on the network. They can take around 72 passangers.
Built by British Leyland and converted by Hunslet-Barclay they have a top speed of 75mph. Fitted with the BSI coupling, they have a adapter plug that can be attacted to a chain coupling located in the small store compartment.
15x Class 170/1
The most newest train in our fleet. The 3-car 170/1, built by Bombardier. Used on our cross-country lines you can see then departing from the main station to many destinations.
These have a maximum speed of 90mph. They can operate with the Class 153 and are fitted with a BSI coupling.
__________
10x Class 323:
Used for suburban commuter trains, the Class 323 has a distinct 3 phase motor sound. These overhead wire units run in 3 car sets can take up to 284 passengers seating...and more.
Built by Hunslet TPL it has a top speed of 90mph but rarley ever runs that fast due to the constant start/stop routine along the commuter line. It's fitted with a BSI coupling that can drop down to revel a chail coupling hook for rescue operations. It is currently being decided if we should fit them with the Dellner coupling.
1x BM73 or Class 73/Class 373:
The BM73 or Class73/Class 373 is used to operate the Viking Branch. Often refered to as the "Viking Train" it runs frequently out AE Chat Central and branchs off soon after along the single track overhead line to the Viking Lounge Station. It's currently painted in the "Viking Lounge" advertising livery. The "Class 373" was assigned upon arrival to fit into our TOPS numbering system.
Built by Adtranz Strømmen it has a top speed of 130mph but only does around 75mph along the Viking Branch. It can take up to 250 passangers and runs in a 4-car formation. It is fitted with a Dellner coupling.
