Hi sorry my previous post was a little vague, i formulated my question good now :)
*though i dont know how to delete my old post/question,

How can you make an airline time table? im using Words to create a time table but it sucks a bit,
like i would fill in for example flights for amsterdam (just as example):

Destination:____________Frequency:____distance:__Flight Time:
London Gatwick_________10x daily ____360km______1:10 hours
Lisbon _________________5x daily ____1800km ____2:50 hours

(thats just an example, so i fill it out for 50 cities now,
but im doing it all in tables/cells though now i want to know if i have 10 daily flights to london with a TU204 for example, then how many aircraft do i need?
etc. it sounds a bit silly but if someone understands me please help :)))))))))))))

You have to work out the Block Time of the aircraft- ie. the time it takes to do one rotation.
Thats:
BT=2*(Distance)/speed+2*(Turnaround time)

Each aircraft has 140 available hours per week, so we have to divide 140 by the Block time:

Number of aircraft needed= 140/BT

hope that helps ;)

Just a suggestion i would use a spreadsheet like Excel or Google Docs. Makes life a hell of a lot easier :)

I can't speak for all staff members, but I usually deduce the turn times from various sources. I usually get an average based on airline schedules and information, and my own knowledge of aircraft ground operations.

Block time is calculated using the method bolli mentioned.
