- Album Pacific Orient Airways
Pacific Orient acquired it's fist 747 in 1979, when the airline finally won approval to begin Hong Kong - London service. By 1984, they had 8 747s in service, providing long-range, non-stop flying to Europe, North America, and South Africa with a stop in Dubai.
These aircraft were replaced starting in 1994 with the 747-400 and were completely retired by 1999.
