Convair CV990

Convair CV990

Pacific Orient started it's transition to the Jet Age in 1962 when it acquired it's first Convair 990 jetliner. These aircraft were a capacity increase over the DC-7 fleet, and offered a substantial increase in speed and comfort. The fastest subsonic jetliner ever built, the 990 would prove itself all across Southeast Asia, bringing cities like Tokyo, Singapore, and Bangkok closer than ever. These aircraft were replaced by the 727-200Adv in 1974

Excellent work - love the Convair. Those poor passengers who brought earplugs but found those were less necessary and their flight was 30 minutes longer on the 722!
