Belgrade Air - Boeing 737s

Belgrade Air - Boeing 737s

Belgrade Air is a 2022 startup based out of, you guessed it, Belgrade's Nikola Tesla International Airport. Belgrade is the airline's only hub and Serbian destination, and the airline serves a paltry four destinations out of BEG: Vnukovo, Minsk, Berlin and Tel Aviv. Yet the airline has a surprisingly large fleet of ten ex-Vostok 737s - eight -800s and two MAX 8s. Each of the aircraft are painted in various colours, most showing clear signs of their Russian origin, with only the two MAX 8s carrying a 'full' livery (if you can call it that).

Belgrade Air would like you to believe that it was founded by a few Serbian businessmen, whose names are prominently displayed on the airline's website. Despite their efforts, it's obvious that nearly every aspect of the airline has been passed down from Russian airline Aviakompaniya Vostok (formerly VostokAvia), including slots at Belgrade, airport offices and furniture, the coffee cups and safety cards, all the way up to the fleet of ten aircraft themselves. The airline operates up to twenty daily flights between Moscow and Belgrade with their 737s, parking into Vostok's Terminal A gates in Vnukovo.

As far as regulators and the Serbian government, are concerned, however, the airline is a 100% Serbian low-cost carrier that just happens to fly the most lucrative route into the city of onion domes, replacing Vostok's six daily flights, shuttling nearly all Russian passengers in and out of the Federation amidst heavy embargoes and sanctions on the state, Vostok, and its oligarch owner (who also happens to reside in Belgrade).
