2022 | 'Samurai Blue 2022' | Boeing 777-200ER | JA193A

Since the 2002 World Cup hosted in both South Korea and Japan, NAL has temporarily painted at least 1 of its aircraft into a "Samurai Blue" colour scheme for each FIFA World Cup. Previously, this livery, in support of Japan's national football team, has featured on Boeing 747 and Boeing 767 aircraft. Since 2018, the airline has opted for changingthe airline's signature logo - the crane - from the usual national colours of Japan, to blue, which is the colour most associated with the national team and has been represented on nearly all of their home kits. This particular 777 was repainted in September 2022 and will sport the special colours until the spring of 2023.
