Air New Zealand Star Alliance Airbus A321neo (D) ZK-OYB

So this is the newest plane in the Air New Zealand fleet, the A321neo- waaiiiit, don't they already have A321neos? Well, yes, but this ain't no ordinary A321neo

You see, Air New Zealand does presently already have A321neos, but they are in an international config. Air New Zealand has taken delivery of all* of their internationally configured A321neos. However, this year, they have taken delivery of 2 A321neos in domestic configurations. The first one was delivered in October, that one being ZK-OYA. Then there's this plane, ZK-OYB. (*please correct me if I'm wrong k?)

ZK-OYB is an all black livery, but not an All Black livery, if you catch my drift. Oscar Yankee Bravo instead features the Star Alliance titles across her fuselage, and the Star Alliance logo on her tail. The iconic Air New Zealand koru logo is still present on the sharklets, though. She is the first plane to wear a full black Star Alliance livery in the history of the alliance (You can imagine this livery to be an inverted Singapore Airlines Star Alliance livery!). However, she is actually the second plane to have worn the Star Alliance livery in Air New Zealand's history, the first being ZK-OJH, however she was withdrawn from use in February 2020. She now flies for Air Sial in Pakistan.

ZK-OYB was delivered brand new to Air New Zealand in November of 2022, and presently flies routes such as AKL-ZQN, AKL-WLG, and AKL-CHC. If you want the chance to fly on ZK-OYB, be sure to fly on one of those three routes, and pick the flight(s) on the A321neo. Good luck!

    Nice work!
