A330 MRTT

A330 MRTT

In May 2018 the Portuguese Air Force received its first Airbus A330 MRTT ( Multi Role Tanker Transport) at its operations support squadron in Beja in southern Portugal.

Indeed, it was in 2016 that the Portuguese Air Force expressed its desire to acquire this multi-role aircraft, capable of carrying out several missions simultaneously, within its fleet.

The CS-341P was purchased from EgyptAir in October 2017 and sent a few weeks later to Seville in Spain to be modified into an MRTT.
After 6 months of work the aircraft was finally delivered.

In August 2021, the CP-341P participated in evacuation operations for foreign nationals and the Afghan population in support of their international allies during the Taliban takeover in Kabul.

Rotations took place from August 18 to 26 between Islamabad and Portugal.
Three Hercules C-130s provided evacuations from Kabul to Islamabad, while two A330 MRTT (CP-341P / CP-342P) connected Lisbon and Faro airports.

In June 2022 the Portuguese Air Force received its third and last aircraft ( CP-343P ).

    Thank you very much :)

I dont know if you're Portuguese, but the registration does not make sense. All of them use a numeric only registration. The C130s use 16804, Falcon 50s use 17401 etc.

All Portuguese military aircraft use the normal Amarillo USAF font, not the air force's logo font.

But, I do like the idea of a Portuguese MRTT :P

Hi FlyHighAviator , Thank you very much for your comment. I absolutely did not know that the Air Force used this kind of registration. I thank you for this information because I have a projet to make another aircraft for the Portuguese Air Force , so I could out the right registration :)
