B777 200ER

SKYWINGS introduced the 777 to its fleet during October 2017. Former UNITED AIRLINES aircraft the TJ-HGB was sold to the Cameroonian company on September 27, 2017 , before moving to Yaoundé the following month where the rest of the fleet is located.

The TJ-HGB is the one and only 777-200ER of the company. It made its first commercial flight to Gaborone, Botswana.

For operational reasons, the TJ-HGB was put directly into service with the UNITED AIRLINES colors. Only the name of the company is added, covering the name of the American company. The logo on the tail fin has been removed for sale.

Not having qualified pilots in time at the beginning of the operations, the Cameroonian company approached the English national company BRITISH AIRWAYS in order to make an agreement for the provision of three crews.
An agreement was quickly reached and BRITISH AIRWAYS sent three pilot crews to Yaounde for a period of 6 months. All were housed in a complex dedicated to the company's staff located in the north of the capital, about thirty minutes from the airport.

SKYWINGS will integrate its own pilots on 777 in March 2018.

In addition to the passenger operations, the company carried out cargo missions during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was important to keep its aircraft and crews flying as much as possible.
This is what I wanted to represent on this project with the closing of all the windows.

The commercial flights resumed timidly at the beginning of September 2020.

In February 2021 the plane is sent to Orlando to be painted with the colors of SKYWINGS.

To this day the aircraft is still in operation and continues to criss-cross the African sky.
