British Blue Whales - Boeing 747-400F (World Air Logistics)

British Blue Whales - Boeing 747-400F (World Air Logistics)

World Air Logistics was founded in 2001 and started operations in June of that next year. Raines Air was contracted to dry lease three 747-400Fs to the company. World Air Logistics, or WAL as often referred to, operated on behalf of British Airways World Cargo. However, it did not operate under their livery and instead aircraft were painted in hybrid Raines Air and WAL color schemes. Ownership of WAL was split between Brydon Associates' 51% stake and Raines Air's 49% stake.

Eventually, the dry lease contract with Raines Air was terminated in 2011 and all three 747-400Fs were returned to Raines Air by early 2012. WAL would acquire three 747-8F aircraft under British Airways livery. Raines Air would assist in these operations with a CMI contract. In January 2014, British Airways would terminate the contract effective April 30th. WAL was left without contractors and would cease operations in May of that year.

N491MC was delivered in May of 2002 and would join WAL in January of 2003. It was re-registered as G-WALD. It left WAL in December of 2011 and was returned to Raines, where it still flies for them.

nice livery , simple but nice . And excellent inspiration for the story .
