Tyme Northern Saab 340 1982-1991

Tyme Northern Airways was a Canadian Regional Airline based in Edmonton, Alberta started by John Tyme Sr. The airline started out with a fleet of five De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otters working on a contract basis mainly moving cargo to remote airports. Later in the 80's the airline would start passenger services from Edmonton International serving communities in Alberta. The airline would also place orders for the Saab 340B which would later turn into the backbone of the airlines fleet. In 1988 Tyme Northern would sign a deal with Trans Canadian to operate regional flights on behalf of Trans Canadian with their fleet of Saab 340b aircraft which had 'TCAS Regional Partner' added to the forward fuselage on the plane though none would be fully repainted until 1991 when Tyme Northern Airways was purchased in full by Trans Canadian and the fleet was re-painted into a newly adopted TCAS Regional livery. Tyme Northern name though never officially changed would be removed completely from either airlines branding in 1995. Today Tyme Northern operates a fleet of CRJ regional jets and Dash 8 Q400 aircraft throughout Canada and the Northern United States.
