there is nothing that says I can't paint the american flag on an aircraft. Especially if it is an aircraft supporting the armed forces in the us and abroad.

.> The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.

    > The flag should not be draped over the hood, top, sides, or back of a vehicle or of a railroad train or a boat. When the flag is displayed on a motorcar, the staff shall be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender.

American's livery exploits a loophole; the livery is an abstraction of the American flag. Note the lack of stars and the presence of only 11 stripes (unless you count the bisection of each stripe as its own.) Now by that logic, this is also kind of (?) an abstraction, as it lacks the number of stars and stripes, but it would've been nice to see a little more work done rather than simply masking an image of it to the fuselage.

mine only has five stripes. so i guess in your definition that my flag is an "abstraction"

American's design is an abstraction because it's a unique design inspired by the flag yet not a copy of it in any way. Your flag showing only five lines isn't because it's meant to be an abstraction, it's because you just pasted it and it's so large that the rest can't be seen.

Stop being intentionally obtuse, you are only making yourself look like a moron. You did something good with Blueline's redesign, don't screw it up by posting weird garbage like this. Do better.

you're doing the lord's work here. Getting everyone pissed over nothing. Bravo sir.

American Airlines does not recognize the legitimacy of Delaware or New Jersey.
