Air Orchid is a full-service airline based in Jakarta. Air Orchid is the largest full service airline in Indonesia. was established on November 2, 1983 and operated on October 28, 1986. Air Orchid was first operated using a wet-leased Boeing B737-200 open a route to Bali. Air Orchid experienced rapid growth and In the early 1990s, Air Orchid opened international routes to Amsterdam, Beijing, Paris, Sydney and Tokyo using the Boeing 747-400. In the late 1990s there was an economic crisis that hit airline operations hard enough and forced airlines to cut services in order to stay afloat. In 2007, the airline carried out a major modernization of its fleet.
