Air New Zealand EMB110-P1 ZK-CPE

Finally I am now able to present you one of the Embraer EMB110s Air New Zealand (Eagle Airways) operated.

The fleet of 11 Bandeirantes were all operated by subsidiary Eagle Airways (who as you may know later operated the Beech B1900Ds) and were operated between 1980 and 2002.

The bandits were fitted with 18 seats, and flew all around the North Island (I'm not 100% sure on their use in the South Island). However in the new millennium, these planes were looking quite old, especially with the fact that they did not have pressurised cabins. And so, in February of 2001, Eagle Airways announced that it would replace its fleet of Bandeirantes and Metroliners with 19-seater Beech B1900Ds.

Interestingly enough, the aircraft depicted above, ZK-CEF, alongside ZK-VJG, were the only Bandeirantes to wear the new Air New Zealand Link colour scheme.

ZK-CEF: 1992 Embraer EMB110-P1 | Eagle Airways | Currently: Active with Northern Air Charter Services in Fiji as DQ-AFQ (from what I can tell)

Kiwi slang of the day: "Munted"
meaning: Something that is badly damaged but still barely works (miraculously in some instances)
Person A: "Aw bro, look at how munted that car is"
Person B: "Yeah, far out, aye? Wonder how it ended up that way?"

Kiwi classic of the day: Why Does Love Do This To Me? | Artist: The Exponents
(This one is arguably one of the most famous songs to ever come out of New Zealand)

Stay tuned for there will be more content to do with the Bandeirante!
