M1.1. Alden 717-200

So this one was missing from the DC-9 Evolutions poster because frankly, it wouldn't fit. I suppose I could've done something creative with the layout and traded the DC-9-30/50 for a DC-9-40 and added this beneath the MD-90 and put the text in the gap left, but oh well, the past is in the past. And besides, then I wouldn't get to show off Alden on this amazing template by Brentmne.

Anyway, the 717 is the last Mad Dog variant in service with Alden. Most were stored at the height of the pandemic but have slowly been returning to service. Most of Alden's 717's are dry-leased from lessors and other airlines, but a few of them have been owned out-right by Alden for the entirety of their service, as Alden ordered several back when the type was known as the MD-95.

Alden uses most of its 50 717's for its 'Air Shuttle' sub-brand, which services the Boston-Washington corridor, Chicago, and the west coast of the United States. It also uses the 717 on high-density intra-Texas flights such as Dallas to Houston and lower-density medium-range routes such as Dallas to Louisville.
