In 2012, Delta buys 50% of Virgin Atlantic. In the transaction, a deal is reached to have VA integrated into Skyteam alongside it's partners Delta and Air France-KLM.
A 747 displayed Skyteam colors until it was retired in 2020. A 787 is currently in Skyteam colors.
Edit 9/27/22: Virgin Atlantic has now announced that they will join Skyteam in 2023.
I'd love this
If i could have some airlines join skyteam, it would be:I'd love this
Virgin Atlantic
Hawaiian
Philippines
Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia, Vistara, GOL should become SkyTeam members. And maybe like Air Senegal for West Africa.
Skyteam, nasty
Oneworld supremacy
you will now be executedSkyteam, nasty
VA is what I agree with wholeheartedly.Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia, Vistara, GOL should become SkyTeam members. And maybe like Air Senegal for West Africa.
I actually think that Virgin Australia was headed for Star Alliance before 2020, and now I don't think they will at least for now
Vistara would be a good choice, but Singapore owns 49% of it and the other company that owns it now owns Air India, so I could see Star Alliance working too
GOL doesn't make sense. Low cost carriers don't join alliances
Air Senegal would be a good candidate but it's a little young
GOL doesn't make sense. Low cost carriers don't join alliances.
GOL technically isn't low-cost, it's a hybrid airline. And seeing how the European airlines and Delta work well with GOL, it would make sense, though Delta chose to invest into LATAM. I think they have more of a chance now.
This has finally become relevant
Skyteam, nasty
Oneworld supremacy
Star Alliance above allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
really nice
