Boeing 747 200CF

On this publication, I wanted to represent a 747-200 belonging to British Airways undergoing its transformation into a freighter version out of the maintenance workshops, and once painted with its new colors.


Boeing 747-200 (n/s1932) registered D2-DFS was put into service by British Airways at the end of 1983. Its first commercial flight linked London to New Delhi. After 14 years spent with the English company transporting thousands of passengers around the world, the plane was sold to African FREIGHTER, an African company specializing in heavy freight transport. The company is located at Lunda Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport. It is sent to the hangars of the Bedek company in the USA, which specializes in the transformation of 747 into cargo versions.
He made his first flight for the Angolan company in July 1998 between Lunda and Hong Kong, stopping at Islamabad airport in Pakistan.
In February 2006, the aircraft was damaged during unloading operations. After being repaired, it reappeared 4 months later on a flight between Lunda and Istanbul.
It made its last landing on October 17, 2014 at Roswell International Air Center airport in New Mexico to be stored there and dismantled after 31 years of service.

Sur cette publication, j’ai voulu représenter un ancien 747-200 appartenant à British Airways subir sa transformation en version cargo à la sortie des ateliers de maintenance, et une fois peint avec ses nouvelles couleurs.

Boeing 747-200 (n/s1932) immatriculé D2-DFS a été mis en service par la compagnie British Airways à la fin de l’année 1983. Son premier vol commercial relia Londres à New Delhi. Après 14 ans passer au sein de la compagnie anglaise à transporter des milliers de passagers à travers le monde, l’avion est vendu à African FREIGHTER , compagnie africaine spécialiser dans le transport fret lourd. La compagnie est située sur l’aéroport international de Lunda Quatro de Fevereiro. Il est envoyé dans les hangars de la société Bedek au USA spécialiser dans la transformation de 747 en version cargo.
Il réalisa son premier vol pour la compagnie angolaise en juillet 1998 entre Lunda et Hongkong en faisant escale sur l’aéroport d'Islamabad au Pakistan.
En février 2006, l’avion est endomager lors d’opérations de déchargement. Après avoir été réparer il fait sa réapparition 4 mois plus tard sur un vol entre Lunda et Istanbul.
Il réalisa son dernier atterrissage le 17 octobre 2014 sur l’aéroport de Roswell International Air Center au Nouveau-Mexique pour y être stocké et démanteler après 31 ans de service.
