To keep up with the growing demand, Asas began buying used 737-300s. The plan was the introduce them and then phase them out by 2011 and be replaced by 737-700s.
PR-GOA was previously operated by United Airlines from 1989 until it was introduced to Asas in 2006. It was retired in 2011 and scrapped at Miami Opa Locka.
