TurkJet Airbus A320neo

TurkJet is Air Turkey's domestic low(ish) cost carrier based in Istanbul. The airline was established on 13 July 2015 to serve most of Air Turkey's destinations. On the same day, the airline placed a large order for 20 Airbus A320-200, 35 A320neo, 12 A321-200, 16 A321neo, and 15 737-MAX 8s. TurkJet began operations on 8 August 2015 with 3 Air Turkey A320-200s, which were returned to Air Turkey by July 2016 as some of the aircraft ordered arrived into the fleet.

On 18 July 2016, TurkJet announced their first international route, IST-SOF. TurkJet planned on serving international destinations around south and southeastern Europe (think Bulgaria, Moldova, Greece, Albania, etc), and destinations in the Middle East. By the time the pandemic began however, only 6 international routes were served by TurkJet, with a 7th having been dropped in November 2019 due to low passenger bookings.

Today, TurkJet is the leading airline domestically in Turkey. Although Air Turkey still operates a decent number of domestic routes, they don't operate to the same insane extent that TurkJet does.
