Almazavia - Sukhoi Superjet 100

Almazavia - Sukhoi Superjet 100

Almazavia (Авиакомпания Алмазавиа) (previously Almasiflot) is a Russian airline with its head office at Mirny Airport. Previously a charter transport airline for the Russian diamond mining superconglomerate Almaz-Sibir, it transitioned to a more flexible business model in 2004 during the filing of bankruptcy by the company. The airline remains an integral part of Almaz-Sibir's operations, using its 14-strong fleet of mixed Western and Russian/Soviet types as charter operations to transport many of its workers around Almaz-Sibir's many diamond mining towns in Siberia. Despite the closing of the Mir mine in Mirny in 2004, Mirny Airport remains a key hub in Almazavia's scheduled and charter services.
