[OLD] airVeruda A319-100 | I-AFY

It's 2003.

airVeruda's other aircraft at this time, a 737-200 under the registration I-AFX and an ATR 42 under I-AFC have just been retired after 32 long years of 737 service, 25 of which are with the airline and 22 years of ATR 42 service.

The airline has a fresh new look, having just adopted the 2003 mint green livery. This A319-100, I-AFY, is the first of many A319-100s to be delivered this year, also the first to be painted into this new livery. It will stay in this livery even after many other planes are painted into the 2018 livery. I-AFY will eventually be the second plane in airVeruda's fleet to be painted into the 2021 mint livery, and the first A319 in the fleet to do so.

By its delivery, it is already 6 years old, having been in service for a defunct airline, Jetluxe for 6 years. It is eventually retired in 2025 after airVeruda phases out its A319s and A318s for A319neos. It is sold to Zadar International Airport, the aircraft's main base since 2006. Zadar International Airport eventually took it apart and auctioned parts of it off in November of 2030 after a bombing of the museum it was in for the last 2 years of its life took place and the museum shut down. By early 2031 there were parts of I-AFY all over the world, bought by avgeeks and retired airVeruda pilots and crew.
