British Atlantic Airways A350-1000

For the UK & Ireland Design Challenge http://www.airline-e...sign-challenge/

The origins of British Atlantic Airways can be traced back all the way to Britain's first aviation companies in the 1920s and 1930s. During that time, as the largest privately owned British airline at the time, English Atlantic Aviation had established itself as an industry leader. It was the second airline to offer non-stop flights between London and New York on it's DC-4s. It was the first airline to fly the de-Havilland Comet, and the first airline outside the United States to fly the Boeing 707. By the early 1970s, English Atlantic Aviation had renamed itself British Atlantic Airways following a complex series of airline mergers, and had become Europe's largest airline at the time.

Following the merger, British Atlantic Airways continued to lead the way. For example, the Concorde. British Atlantic Airways made sure to launch flights on the exact same day as the other operators: January 21, 1976. In addition, the airline continued to introduce revolutionary international business (and later premium economy) class products every few years, and they still do so even to this day. The most well known example is when British Atlantic Airways lead the way with the world's first lay-flat business class seat in 2000, in addition to adding a premium economy cabin to their widebodies at the same time.

To this day, British Atlantic Airways is seen as one of the worlds most prestigious airlines, and they continue to lead the way in innovation.
