In 2018, MapleJet rejoined the world of passenger carrying airlines. After existing solely as a cargo carrier since 2003, the airline went all in on a low-cost model, operating from Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

16 A220-300s were leased to initiate domestic service, with eyes on expansion to the US, Mexico, and Caribbean if the business takes hold.
