Following the conversion of the Boeing 747-400M into a freighter in 2011 Kazakh Airlines Cargo the new division of Kazakh Airlines spent the following 4 years establishing itself as a cargo airline, and as demand grew so did the need for more aircraft and come 2015 Kazakh Airlines retired two of its 6 Boeing 767-300ER's from service and sent them out to be converted into freighters. By 2016 both aircraft had been fully converted and entered service with Kazakh Airlines Cargo.

The Boeing 767's fit into the airline perfectly with a lower capacity of cargo for routes primarily between China and Russia played vital roles importing and exporting goods, the airline would also operate cargo services for other airlines within the Central Asian region. The cargo division's fleet would total 4 aircraft at which it would remain as the airline deemed that current demand sufficient for the fleet. At that time no further plans to expand the Kazakh Airlines Cargo had been put into place, it wouldn't be until 2020 that Kazakh Airlines Cargo not only would play a vital role during the global Covid-19 pandemic but would expand its fleet of 6 aircraft in total with the introduction of a further two Boeing 767-300ER's it had acquired from California after they had been retired and stored by other airlines.
