Part of Kazakh Airlines rebranding and refreshed look included streamlining the airlines brand, originally the Boeing 717 fleet had been branded as Kazakh Regional Airlines, although the regional brand was not a separate division or subsidiary of the airline it was promoted as such to differentiate between the level of service onboard regional flights. The Boeing 717 fleet began their repaint and new cabin installations in 2006 4 years after entering service with the airline.

With regional dropped from the fleet the 717 would sport Kazakh Airlines standard livery, worn across the airlines entire fleet, the Boeing 717 would eventually retire from service within Kazakh Airlines in 2012 in favor of more efficient regional aircraft. While the 717 would leave the Kazakh Airlines fleet the type would go on to begin services with a new airline in Kazakhstan setup as a subsidiary of Kazakh Airlines to operate low cost regional flights on routes less profitable for Kazakh Airlines due to its full service fares.
