Semi-replacing older Airbus models, (A300B4-200 goes, A300-600R stays) and joining the 747-400 and MD11 was the role of the Airbus A330/A340 aircraft. A330-300s were deployed on regional to semi-long-haul routes, stretching as far as Melbourne and the A340s on true long haul routes like Frankfurt and Amsterdam in Europe, and Vancouver in the Americas. The airline's new brand identity was launched simultaneously with the new aircraft, and all the other aircraft in the fleet were repainted for conformity.
