Wright Flyer | 2008-present | Bombardier CRJ 700

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Wright Airways decided to join the rush among US air carriers to introduce regional jets as replacements for turboprop types. This led to a contract between Wright Airways and MountainWest Aviation to operate a number of CRJ-200 and later CRJ-700/-900 regional jets under the Wright Flyer brand. The first CRJ-700 was delivered to MountainWest in late 2001 and began operating Wright Flyer services shortly thereafter. Currently, more than 50 examples of the CRJ-700 and -900 remain in the Wright Flyer fleet, primarily operating in the Western region of the USA.
