MERPATI PK MDG 737 300

Merpati means “dove” in the Indonesian language. This airline was established in the 1960s following the increasing demand
for air travel across the nation. Until the 2010s, Merpati still holds the record for being a preferable option to travel. Merpati
was known for owning a large number of fleets ranging from classic turboprop carriers to large widebody aircrafts such as
the Boeing 707. I saw many Merpati in my childhood days when their Xian MA-60, Boeing 734, and Fokker 100 still operate.

At least two accidents occurred in my hometown airport involving Merpati, one MA-60 made an emergency belly landing and
broke its engines, and one F100 also made an emergency landing because of a gear failure. Both accidents don’t involve casualties.
By record, they owned at least three Boeing 737-300s. Some were painted in special schemes to promote certain activities.
Before they ceased operations, Merpati planned to order several Airbus aircraft. The last update came from this airline reports that
Ressurection attempts were still in progress to relaunch this airline however, no new updates were reported.
