African Airways is an Ethiopian carrier based out of Addis Ababa and is one of the largest airlines throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. It had two very large subsidiaries, African Nigeria and African Congo, each from 2011 to 2019. The airline began operating in the early 1960s and has begun growing rapidly with the industrialization and economic growth within Sub-Saharan Africa. It now has a fleet of A330-NEO, 777-200 and 300, 787-9, 737-800, 757-200, and Embraer 145 aircraft.
