The Islander (Not That One) and Twotter

Seychelles Airways started out its operations in 1977 offering its Inter-Island services with a small fleet of two Britten Norman Islanders, which would later only expand to a third. However in the 1980s the airline found itself gathering more demand that would always have the islanders at maximum capacity, as well as the growing demand from the island that have no space for a runway and would require an aircraft with floats. Thus in 1983 Seychelles Airways would go and order 4 DeHavilland Twin Otters, one of which equipped with floats to be able to serve the islands with out an airstrip. In 1984 the airline would receive its first Twin Otter and thus commenced the retirement of the Islanders, one Islander was kept on as a trainer till 1992 where it was scrapped. Seychelles Airways would grow fond of the Twin Otter and operate them for years to come.
