Hawaii Pacific | 1970s | Boeing 737-200

Hawaii Pacific began operating the 737-200 in 1970 as part of its fleet renewal program. The type proved to be well suited for interisland operations and was used by the airline well into the 1990s. During the 1980s, the carrier introduced some examples of the quick-change variant in order to provide nighttime freight services between the islands and also certified some of the jets for ETOPS in order to serve remote islands in the Pacific such as Kiritimati (Christmas Island) as well as operate weekly charters to Midway Island. A few of the -200s survived the airline's period of financial difficulties and subsequent rebranding as Air Hawaii but were eventually replaced with newer, more efficient aircraft by the end of the century.

Aircraft N732PC, Nēnē (named for the Hawaiian Goose), was one of the carrier's first 737s and served with the airline until the late 1980s.

Credits to Airplano for the improved -200 template :D
