hey all you cool cats and kittens.
i made a thing. it's VH-EBB, Qantas' Second Airbus A330.
Named Freycinet Peninsula, EBB was delivered to Qantas in December of 2002 and arrived in Australia on Christmas Day, 2002.
Qantas CityFlyer was a sub-brand of Qantas promoting higher levels of domestic service, primarily targetted at the Business travel.
With CityFlyer, Qantas pioneered services that other domestic carriers now take for granted such as the ability to use your mobile till the doors are closed, free bar service after 4pm and free newspapers across all classes.
CityFlyer operated high frequency, half hourly services between Sydney and Melbourne as well as hourly between Sydney and Brisbane.
The CityFlyer subbrand and associated levels of service were eventually incorporated into mainline Qantas and the need for the subbrand deminished.
After a sucessful career with QF CityFlyer, EBB was subleased to JetStar between 2007 and 2014 inaugerating international services whilst the airline awaited it's 787-8 Dreamliners.
Currently, like most of the QF Widebody fleet, she's stored as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
