Throughout the 1990s, Colombiana relied on the F50 (operated by its subsidiary ARC - Aerolíneas Regionales de Colombia) for its regional services within Colombia. Despite the ongoing political challenges in the country, the airline held its position as an important player in the Latin American airline market and expanded its network to include more destinations in North America. After serving faithfully for over 10 years, the F50s were replaced by several ATR 72 aircraft as the airline aimed to better size its fleet to the regional markets.
