Well yes, but if people are first noticing the background, and then the livery, then that's a bad sign. The livery should be the thing that the viewer first pays attention to, not the background.
well, I found the pictures I was using before to be too distracting so I'm trying to find something different to do, any suggestions for next time?

Cloudhi has a point.
A distracting background takes away from the livery. The background should compliment the livery, not clutter it. What you should have done is made the opacity of the background such that it's not distracting, i.e. lower it way down. The fact you made it so visible and then put the airline branding text over it makes it look super sloppy.
