Following a takeover of a struggling airline, Scioto Airlines took ownership of five Boeing 767-300 aircraft. Although the aircraft showed their age, Scioto has used these aircraft to their full potential, and they have helped Scioto continue to grow across the United States, as well as internationally.

Unless increased demand calls for their use elsewhere, all five of our 767's are based out of Chicago O'Hare. Typically, they are used to operate our daily flight from Chicago to Honolulu, or from Chicago to our range of destinations in Central and South America. Although our larger fleet of 737-800's are more than capable of operation these flights, seasonal demand has meant that Scioto has regularly found use for these larger aircraft. As a result, Scioto has decided that it will continue to maintain a small fleet of larger, medium to long haul aircraft. It is expected that all five of our 767 aircraft will be retired by 2024. It is then hoped that Scioto will replace these aircraft with a suitable newer model. At present, Scioto is considering ordering brand new Boeing 787-8 aircraft as a direct replacement for the 767-300.

The aircraft shown above, registered N285IO, has been named "Maroons", which celebrates the athletics of the University of Chicago. UChicago has been a major research partner of Scioto Airlines over the last 25 years. Although the Chicago Maroons only compete in the NCAA Division III, it was only right that Scioto recognizes the great support which the University of Chicago has offered us, and hopefully will continue to offer us in the future. We are a proud supporter of Maroons athletics!

    This be looking nice!

I like it! But maybe move the reg a little bit towards the front. Maybe below the windows in the back

On my first design, the 737-800, the registration only really worked back below the tail, so I wanted to be consistent with the design. On the 767 and other larger aircraft, it probably would fit, and work better, further up.

    very nice! ^_^

This I like! Altough, a rule in logo/livery design is that if there is something that lives or has a natural front, the direction its looking or jumping in this case, is to make it look towards the front of that said vehicle or object. Otherwise it messes with the balance. Going backwards is not something you want for an airline.

this is a really hard thing to explain, hope you get it

I think I know what you mean. Obviously the shape of the tail meant that the deer had to jump in that direction, with it obviously being reversed on the other side. I could have switched it round for the logo but I just kept it the same as the tail on the side you can see. Will keep that in mind though!
