Lansing Air System Livery 1982

Lansing Air System Livery 1982

For much of the 1970s and early 80s, the Lansing Air System had been a mainstay of small airports all around Michigan, Wisconsin, Ontario, Ohio, and Indiana. Originally two separate airlines, Capital Airways and Wolverine Regional which had joined forces in a late 60s merger, the Lansing Air System was a dominant force in the region. The airline's fleet mostly consisted of Shorts 330s and later Shorts 360s. 1982 would be the last year of LAS aircraft operating in this livery though as Valiant Airways approached LAS to purchase a large share of the regional airline and integrate their operation as a feeder service. LAS agreed to the deal and almost overnight their entire fleet was repainted in the new Valiant Metro livery and their main hub was shifted from Lansing Capitol to Detroit Wayne.
