Other airlines did the sameDelta modified their 727 with winglets in the late 1990s. Other airlines did the same.
Pan Am didn't do it until Pan Am 2
Are LAX's terminals really that close to the runway? Deary me. Also, if you're using photoshop, kudos. It seems that you're using it to enhance your screenshots, not blanket them.

This wasn't photoshoped at all just a pic taken with FRAPS. KLAX is a freeware addon for FSX.
