Ansett Australia, formerly Ansett ANA, was a major Australian domestic and international carrier serving Australians from 1936 to 2001. It operated a fleet of Boeing 737s, 767s and Airbus A320s on domestic services, with Boeing 747-400s leased from Singapore Airlines for their international services to Asia.

Ansett's 747 fleet was leased from majority shareholder Singapore Airlines. Initially Ansett leased a fleet of 3 Boeing 747-300 aircraft from Singapore Airlines, however in 1999, they aquired two Boeing 747-412s from the Singaporean carrier.

ANA was originally delivered to Singapore Airlines in March of 1989 as 9V-SMB and served with them for 10 years, before being leased to Ansett Australia. Following on from Ansett's 747-300 Olympic logojet, they adorned the aircraft in Sydney 2000 olympic decals, celebrating the carrier's status as the official airline partner of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

ANB was originally delivered to Singapore Airlines in September of 1989 as 9V-SMD. Alongside ANA she was leased to Ansett in 1999. ANB was painted in the traditional Ansett Australia Starmark livery without the Sydney 2000 decals.

After the tragic events of September 11, 2001 and Ansett's demise on September 13, both aircraft were returned to Singapore Airlines in November of that year.
In 2003, both ANA and ANB were leased again, this time to the Fijian carrier, Air Pacific as DQ-FJL and DQ-FJK respectively.
Both these aircraft were then retired by Air Pacific in 2013 and subsequently scrapped at Tupelo after a career spanning 24 years and 3 operators.
