Boeing 707-420

Boeing 707-420

An SAA Boeing 707-420 in the 1978 update;

These were also retired in 1982 along with the VC10 fleet as the Conway engines were deemed too expensive to fit with hush kits to meet noise requirements. They were replaced by Airbus A300 aircraft on their intercontinental routes.
