Ryukyu Airlines (琉 球 航 空) | Boeing 737-800

Ryukyu Airlines is a Japanese airline based in Naha, Okinawa. The airline serves destinations throughout the Ryukyu Islands as well as the main islands of Japan and some international destinations with its fleet of Boeing 737 NG and ATR -600 series aircraft.

Originally established during the 1960s, when the Ryukyu Islands were governed by the United States, the airline became vital to transport and the development of the region and has since grown to become the dominant carrier at Naha Airport. There has been recent speculation that the company will place an order for the 737 MAX 8, since it has been a faithful operator of the 737 for decades. However, the airline has stated that there are no current plans to purchase new aircraft. The airline took delivery of its newest 737 in 2016, so its fleet is still quite young and will not need replacement for several years at least.
