Norskair | 1996 | Airbus A330-300

Norskair introduced the A330 in the late 1990s as a replacement for its MD-11 aircraft. Originally, the airline had planned to make the MD-11 the standard long-haul aircraft in its fleet. However, the acquisition of McDonnell Douglas by Boeing and the looming end of MD-11 production forced the airline to look elsewhere after being a faithful Douglas/McDonnell Douglas operator for many years.

Also, in 1996 the airline introduced a new livery that reflected its solidified position as one of Europe's major airlines. LN-BUS Hans Dons was delivered to Norskair in December 1996 and is still in service with the airline, although it will soon be replaced by the A350-900.
