Paulistano, the South American launch customer for the Boeing 757, used the plane as its main short to medium-haul workhorse in its fleet from the moment they were delivered in 1984. Servicing anything from shuttle routes between cities in Central Brazil to transcontinental hops and longer range flights from the Northeast to Florida, these aircraft were a common sight all over Brazil and the rest of South America. Citing decreased fuel efficiency and aging, however, the 757 was phased out in 2012 in anticipation of a fleet and brand makeover which would pave the way for a revitalized Paulistano truly fit for the modern age.
