Air Hawaii | Avro RJ85 | 2016 livery

Air Hawaiʻi introduced the Avro RJ for its interisland routes in the 1990s and took delivery of its last examples in the early 2000s. They are configured with 8 Pacific Class and 80 Island Class seats. With over 20 years of service with the airline, the aircraft are reaching their retirement age and will soon be replaced by Embraer E190 aircraft.

The airline's red and yellow hibiscus logo represents the island of Hawaiʻi and the Kīlauea volcano, as well as the traditional colors of the State of Hawaiʻi and the former Kingdom of Hawaiʻi.

Not bad!! Though I’m not sure the Avro or the Embraer are capable of doing consistent island hops in Hawaii, it is actually a VERY niche market in terms of capable aircraft, hence why Hawaiian keep the 717 going.

Thanks! Actually, Discovery Airways used the Avro on interisland (I don't think they had any techical problems) and Aloha seriously considered the type in the early 2000s...so I thought it would be a good alternative to the 717. :D

    Beaautiful work as always
